What Our Customers Say
Mel, 26/01/2020Dodgy company
"At the end of November I asked Enviroclean Thames Valley to come to my home to steam clean a wool rug and an upholstered sofa. The sofa was by no means dirty - it just needed to be freshened up. The man who carried out the work was called Paul Masters and he says he also has his own cleaning company called ProMasters Thames Valley Carpet Cleaning. I think he said he was based in Tilehurst, but definitely the Reading area. Anyway, once the sofa had finally dried out, it was clear that there were problems. The sides and back were covered in marks which wouldn't brush out and the fabric also now feels hard and rough. I immediately contacted Paul Masters to report this and he told me to use a stiff brush to ‘brush it up’. I did this and reported back to him that it had made no difference whatsoever. Since then, Paul Masters has refused to answer my calls or reply to my messages. When I called him a few days ago from another number, he hung up when he realised who he was talking to. I contacted Envrioclean via Facebook - this is the only way they will communicate - asking for this situation to be rectified and asking what they’ll do in the eventuality that the sofa cannot be restored to its original state. The person I communicated with would not give their name and told me that they ‘give no guarantees’. They offered to send Paul Masters to do a reclean and I said no to that. I have also emailed Enviroclean several times, using the email address on their website, to make a formal complaint. I asked for this situation to be rectified. They have not replied to any of my emails and never answer the phone. I called Enviroclean from another number last week and the person I spoke to refused to give his full name - just ‘Charlie' - and would not say where the company headquarters or or give an address. I also explained that despite numerous formal requests for a receipt to be provided for the sum I’d paid, none has been forthcoming. ‘Charlie’, if that is actually his name, then hung up too. The company is dodgy - they refuse to stand over their work in spite of claims on their website of guaranteed customer satisfaction, they refuse to reveal any information about the company, they issue no invoices, the people I communicated with would not give their names etc etc etc. What are they hiding? Please think carefully before contacting either Enviroclean or ProMasters Thames Valley Carpet Cleaning unless you can afford to have your furniture destroyed. I don't want anyone else to go through such an ordeal. Forewarned is forearmed. PS: They keep removing this review - mine and an almost identical negative review by Lisa B from the Coventry area. Surely just adds to the picture!"
